Before leaving, Prime Minister Modi described Seychelles as a valued maritime neighbour and a key partner in India’s Vision MAHASAGAR initiative and the shared commitment to the Global South.

He said the two countries have built strong ties based on mutual trust, democratic values, respect for diversity and close people to people relations.

President Herminie had visited India in February this year, paving the way for deeper engagement between the two nations.

PM Modi said he is confident that the visit will further strengthen the longstanding partnership, enhance maritime cooperation and advance the shared vision of a secure, peaceful and prosperous Indian Ocean region.
