Hyderabad, July 1 (Maxim News): A decomposed body was discovered during desilting operations at the Motukula Kunta outlet drain in Machabollaram of Alwal mandal on Wednesday, prompting a police investigation.
The body was found when HYDRAA Disaster Response Force (DRF) and Monsoon Response Teams were removing silt and accumulated garbage from the drain as part of the ongoing monsoon preparedness works.

According to officials, a JCB was clearing large quantities of waste from the outlet drain when the unidentified body was found mixed with the debris.
The body was in an advanced stage of decomposition, with only skeletal remains and remnants of flesh visible, making identification difficult.
HYDRA personnel immediately alerted the Alwal Police, who reached the spot, recovered the body and shifted it for further examination.
Based on preliminary observations, police suspect the body had been in the drain for nearly 15 days. However, the exact cause of death and the identity of the deceased will be determined after forensic examination and investigation.
Police have registered a case and launched an inquiry to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the death.
The incident came to light during HYDRA’s ongoing desilting drive, which has so far removed large quantities of garbage, plastic waste, mattresses, pillows and other debris from stormwater drains across the city to improve water flow during the monsoon.(Maxim News)
