iPhone 18 Pro Max Launch Date Leaked: Bigger Battery, Better Camera, New Chip

Hyderabad: Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max in September 2026, with multiple leaks pointing to September 12 as the likely launch date. While the company has not officially confirmed the timeline, the next-generation flagship smartphones are expected to bring major upgrades in the camera, processor, battery and display.

According to industry reports, Apple may also introduce a new launch strategy by unveiling the Pro models separately from the standard iPhone 18 lineup.

iPhone 18 Pro Max tipped to feature upgraded camera and bigger battery

The iPhone 18 Pro Max is expected to receive one of its biggest camera upgrades yet with a variable-aperture 48MP main camera. Unlike current iPhone models, the new system could physically adjust the amount of light entering the lens, improving low-light photography, portrait shots and video recording.

The flagship smartphone is also rumoured to be powered by Apple’s A20 chipset, built using TSMC’s 2nm manufacturing process, promising faster performance and improved power efficiency. Apple is also expected to introduce its in-house C2 modem for enhanced connectivity.

Leaks suggest the device could feature a 5,200mAh battery, making it the largest battery ever used in an iPhone. Other expected upgrades include a brighter LTPO+ OLED display, a 35 percent smaller Dynamic Island, and a slightly thicker design to accommodate the larger battery.

Industry reports also indicate that the iPhone 18 Pro series may witness a ₹20,000 to ₹30,000 price increase in India due to rising component and manufacturing costs. If the reports prove accurate, the iPhone 18 Pro Max could become Apple’s most expensive mainstream smartphone.
