Hyderabad, Sept 13 (Maxim News): Several districts in Telangana recorded incessant overnight rainfall, with Kesamudram in Mahabubabad recording a maximum of 191.3 mm in the last 24 hours.
Heavy rainfall was also recorded in parts of Mancherial, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Warangal, Jangaon and Nalgonda districts. Some mandals received more than 120 mm of rain, placing them in the “Very Heavy Rainfall” category.
Hyderabad and surrounding areas received light to moderate showers during the period. Bachupally recorded 50.5 mm, followed by Ramachandrapuram with 47.5 mm, Kistareddypet in Ameenpur with 44.4 mm and Patancheru Tahsil Office with 44 mm.
According to rainfall data from the Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS) released on Sunday, rainfall in parts of Hyderabad and Medchal Malkajgiri ranged between 20 mm and 35 mm.
Top rainfall locations across Telangana and Hyderabad
The highest rainfall recorded at locations across Telangana during the last 24 hours was:
- Kesamudram, Mahabubabad: 191.3 mm
- Kannepalli, Mancherial: 153.8 mm
- Nellikudur, Mahabubabad: 152.3 mm
- Dattapada (ESS Paladugu), Yadadri Bhuvanagiri: 144.8 mm
- Kommulavancha, Mahabubabad: 140.0 mm
In GHMC and urban areas, the highest rainfall was recorded at:
- ESS Bachupally, Bachpalle: 50.5 mm
- DEO Office Beside Substation, R.C. Puram: 47.5 mm
- Kistareddypet, Ameenpur: 44.4 mm
- Patancheru Tahsil Office, Patancheru: 44.0 mm
- MMTS Lingampally, Serilingampally: 40.8 mm
The rainfall figures indicate that while several northern and central Telangana districts experienced very heavy showers, Hyderabad largely received light to moderate rainfall during the same period.
