Murmu described the team as a source of great inspiration for India’s youth, particularly girls.

In a post on X, President Murmu praised the team’s performance throughout the tournament.
She said the players performed strongly as a team and won all their matches.
Murmu also said the team had made the country proud. She expressed confidence that the players would achieve more success.
India’s victory also helped the team avenge its 2024 final loss to Sri Lanka.

Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana shared a 129 run opening stand. Both batters scored half centuries.
India’s bowlers then restricted Sri Lanka. Shree Charani took four wickets, while Deepti Sharma claimed two.
The victory marked India’s sixth win over Sri Lanka in Asia Cup finals across formats.
