Ahmedabad / Hyderabad, Sept. 25 (Maxim News): Andhra Pradesh IT and Education Minister Nara Lokesh is touring Ahmedabad to attract fresh industrial investments to the state.
During the visit, he met senior executives from Torrent Group and Welspun Group and invited them to expand their investments in Andhra Pradesh.
Lokesh explained the state’s business environment and government incentives to the industrial leaders. He also discussed investment opportunities in clean energy, manufacturing, logistics and technology.
Lokesh Seeks Clean Energy, Industrial Investments
Lokesh met Torrent Group Chairman Sameer Mehta and invited the group to partner with the Andhra Pradesh government for clean energy projects in the state.
Mehta responded positively and said the group would consider the proposals made by the Andhra Pradesh government.
The minister also met Welspun Group CEO Nitin Jain. He invited Welspun to establish an industrial park in Kakinada.
He also proposed setting up textile, logistics and pipe manufacturing units in Andhra Pradesh.
Lokesh further requested Welspun to establish a Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Visakhapatnam.
During the meeting, Lokesh highlighted Welspun’s existing presence in Andhra Pradesh.
The company is currently operating a 100 MW solar power project in Kurnool and Kadapa districts, according to the information shared during the meeting.
He also pointed out that Welspun supplies pipes for the Kakinada-Srikakulam gas pipeline and the Reliance KG-D6 project.
Welspun also responded positively to the proposals from the Andhra Pradesh government, according to the report.
Lokesh’s Ahmedabad visit is part of the state government’s efforts to attract investments and accelerate industrial development. (Maxim News)
