YS Sharmila House Arrest | Vijayawada / Hyderabad, Oct. 10: Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president YS Sharmila was placed under house arrest on Saturday as police deployed in large numbers outside her residence at Kesarapalli near Gannavaram. The I.N.D.I.A bloc parties had called for a “Chalo Raj Bhavan” programme in Vijayawada.
The parties announced a march from Lenin Centre to Raj Bhavan at 10 am. Police, however, say the programme has no permission.
Police are reportedly placing key leaders under house arrest. Security has also been tightened at Raj Bhavan.

Police have been stationed outside Sharmila’s house since morning. It remains unclear whether she will step out, and the situation around the Chalo Raj Bhavan programme has become tense.
Meanwhile, Left and Congress leaders from other parts of the state are trying to reach Raj Bhavan.
