Sabitha Indra Reddy Accuses Congress Govt Of Forcible Land Acquisition

Hyderabad, Oct. 13: BRS MLA and former minister Sabitha Indra Reddy accused the Congress government of forcibly acquiring farmers’ land in Telangana. Speaking at a media conference at Telangana Bhavan on Tuesday, she also questioned the government’s irrigation plans and proposed infrastructure projects.

Sabitha alleged that farmers were facing uncertainty over irrigation water and drinking water supplies. She said the previous BRS government, led by KCR, had supported farmers and criticised the Congress government’s handling of agricultural issues.

She expressed concern over alleged forced land acquisition across Rangareddy district. She also referred to a reported suicide attempt by a farmer in Lagacharla during protests against land acquisition.

Sabitha questioned the need for a proposed road from Kotwal Guda to Kodangal, noting that a road already connects Shamshabad. She further alleged that farmers in her constituency had lost land for a Greenfield Highway despite questions over the project’s necessity.

She also raised concerns about land demarcation in Nadergul, alleging that access was being restricted and that government land was being treated as private property.
