Sridevi’s Ashes Immersed In Rameswaram Today

Two days after Sridevi was cremated in Mumbai, Boney Kapoor and his family headed to Chennai in a chartered aircraft yesterday to perform the asthi visarjan. In accordance with the rituals of Hindu tradition, the actor’s ashes will be immersed in Rameswaram today.

Sridevi breathed her last on February 24 in Dubai. The actor had flown off to the UAE earlier that week to attend the wedding of nephew Mohit Marwah. Her mortal remains were repatriated on February 27 after Dubai authorities closed the case stating that the actor’s death occurred due to “accidental drowning”.

A prayer meet was held at The Celebration Sports Club on February 28, where Bollywood stars and her fans alike paid their last respects to the superstar. The icon was cremated with full state honours.
