Ambedkar Statue: VH Held For Staging Dharna

Hyderabad, April 14 (Maxim News): The city police today arrested senior Congress leader V Hanumantha Rao for staging a protest at Khairatabad demanding that the State government reinstall Dr Ambedkar statue at Khairatabad. The police also arrested former MLC Ramulu Naik and TPCC secretary Bollu Kishan on the occasion.

Addressing the gathering before his arrest, Hanumantha Rao said he would continue his hunger strike till the State government installed the statue at Khairatabad instead of at Punjagutta circle. On being asked there was no permission for the installation of the Ambedkar statue from the GHMC, he said the statues of former CM Rajasekhar Reddy installed in the city also have no permission from the GHMC.
