Asaduddin dares BJP to conduct NRC in Mizoram, Jammu & Kashmir

Hyderabad, Aug. 6 (Maxim News): AIMIM supremo and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi on Sunday dared the BJP government at the Centre to conduct survey under National Register of Citizens (NRC) in Mizoram and Jammu & Kashmir.

Addressing a public meeting on the occasion of death anniversary of former AIMIM president Fakhr-e-Millat Moulvi Abdul Wahed Owaisi at Ahmed Nagar here, Asaduddin Owaisi lambasted the BJP chief Amit Shah for branding 40 lakh people excluded from the draft list of NRC in Assam as infiltrators and challenged the BJP government to take up the exercise in other States. He recalled media reports that the present Tripura CM was born in Bangladesh in 1971.

Asaduddin  said when other Opposition parties had expressed no-confidence against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress president Rahul Gandhi demonstrated his confidence in BJP by hugging Narendra Modi. “A fatwa would have been issued against me, had I even shook hands with Narandra Modi”, he said, adding that the “two men hugged each other because they did not have anyone in their homes,” Owaisi quipped in a lighter vein.

The AIMIM leader said since BJP came in power in 2014, there was 86 per cent increase in mob lynching and 96 per cent of the victims were Muslims, who were killed on pretext of cow lifters. While Muslims were being targeted in the name of cow protection, the Prime Minister was keeping quiet, he alleged. He also said, “We won’t stop growing beard even if our throats are cut. It is a Constitutional right of the Muslims. We will grow beard till you realize the truth”, he declared. Owaisi also said the BJP was planning to fight the 2019 General Elections in an atmosphere of hate and communal discord in a desperate bid to retain power.

The meeting was also addressed by AIMIM legislators and Telangana Waqf Board Member Nisar Hussain Hyder Aga and other religious scholars. (Maxim News)
