Coronavirus: 9 Month Old Baby Tests Positive
Kumram Bheem Asifabad: A nine-month-old baby boy tested positive for Covid-19 at Esgaon village in Kaghaznagar mandal on Wednesday. He was sent to Gandhi Hospital.
District Medical and Health Officer Dr K Balu said his parent from New Delhi, who tested positive a few days ago, were visiting relatives in Easgaon. The contacts of the couple are being identified.
The district has recorded 26 Covid-19 cases from April to till date. Of them, 22 were discharged. Most of them are native migrants and nine persons belonging to Sirpur (T) constituency. Containment zones have been created and rapid fever surveys are being carried in habitations where the positive cases are reported. Awareness is being created among the public over preventive measures for keeping the disease at bay.
Meanwhile, a person from Mancherial town was infected by the disease. The patient’s locality has been declared as a containment zone. Commercial establishments remain open from 10 am to 6 pm. People are not stepping outside and staying home. Authorities of Municipality are taking steps for curtailing the spread of the virus.
