Hyderabad, April 13: The Telangana Civil Supplies Department has intensified its crackdown on the illegal storage and transportation of domestic gas cylinders across the state, seizing cylinders worth ₹1.5 crore in the past one month.
Acting on the directions of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Civil Supplies Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy, officials have been conducting surprise raids and maintaining strict surveillance to prevent diversion and black marketing of LPG cylinders.

During the inspections, vigilance teams seized 5,079 domestic cylinders and 70 small cylinders that were being illegally stored and transported. Authorities have also registered 2,089 cases against offenders and initiated legal action.
Daily Monitoring to Prevent Supply Disruptions
At the same time, the department has stepped up monitoring to ensure that genuine consumers do not face inconvenience. Officials are tracking cylinder bookings and deliveries on a daily basis through a command control system, ensuring timely supply as per norms.
Public Asked to Report Violations
Meanwhile, the government has urged the public to report any illegal storage, transportation, or delay in cylinder delivery. Complaints can be lodged through the toll-free number 1967, set up by the Civil Supplies Department.
Officials said strict enforcement will continue to curb malpractice and ensure uninterrupted gas supply to households.
