Delhi government should have some powers to administer: Supreme Court
Though Delhi is no doubt a Union Territory, but the elected government must have some rights to be able to function, the Supreme Court observed on Wednesday while hearing the contending views of the Centre and AAP government.
The court promised to pronounce verdict on the squabble over the AAP government’s powers soon, posting the case for January 18 for final hearing.
The Kejirwal government had moved the SC in appeal against the high court order upholding the Lt Governor’s primacy in administering the capital.
