E-Panchayat initiative launched by Telangana Government – indtoday.com

Panchayat Raj and IT Minister K Taraka Rama Rao and Agriculture Minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy launched the E-Panchayat initiative at Bibipet Village in Domakonda Mandal of Nizamabad Dist.

Addressing a public meeting after inauguration of the E-Panchayat, Minister K Taraka Rama Rao reiterated the state government’s commitment to utilize modern technologies to promote transparency in governance.

Minister opined that usage of technology in delivering Government-to-Citizen services helps curb corruption. Sri KTR said E-Panchayat initiative would provide gainful employment to about 10,000 rural educated women.

E-Panchayat initiative, also known as Palle Samagra Seva Kendram (PSSK) is a new initiative envisaged by the Telangana State Govt. to provide financial and citizen services in villages at their door step. This initiative is expected not only to make access to all Govt. services hassle free to the villagers but also save cost and time. The way it provides services in the rural area will augur well more particularly to the poor and vulnerable alongside bridging digital divide and thus will be a game changer.

This will usher in a new era of service delivery at grass roots in a transparent manner. The services which will be provided from Palle Samgra Seva Kendram established at the Gram Panchayat will be as indicated below:

 Financial services from Banks and Stree Nidhi including payment of pension, NREGS wages and DBT benefits
 Meeseva citizen services
 E- Panchayat services
 Access to other Govt. services including grievance redressal mechanism

A Village Level Entrepreneur (VLE), who is already a member of the local Self-Help-Group (SHG) woman member is selected based on their educational qualification There will be close coordination with Rural Development dept. and Society for Elimination of Rural Poverty to ensure smooth functioning of the center.
