ED Seizes 1.2 kg Gold Linked to BRS MLA in PMLA Case

ED Seizes | Hyderabad: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) of Hyderabad unearthed 1.2 kg of gold biscuits linked to BRS Patancheru MLA Gudem Mahipal Reddy here. The discovery was made during an investigation into an alleged money laundering case associated with illegal mining activities.

The ED’s probe led them to a State Bank of India branch in Patancheru, where they found lockers registered under the MLA’s name containing approximately Rs 1 crore worth of gold.

In addition to the gold discovery, the ED is also investigating a mining scandal involving the MLA’s brother, G. Madhusudhan Reddy, and other associates. Sources within the agency revealed that there are no receipts or documentation for the gold biscuits, though they clarified that the gold originated from the domestic market and was not imported.

The ED also seized documents related to about 100 real estate properties owned by the MLA, his son Vikram Reddy, his brother Madhusudhan Reddy, and various benamis.
