ED Seizes 1.2 kg Gold Linked to BRS MLA in PMLA Case
ED Seizes | Hyderabad: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) of Hyderabad unearthed 1.2 kg of gold biscuits linked to BRS Patancheru MLA Gudem Mahipal Reddy here. The discovery was made during an investigation into an alleged money laundering case associated with illegal mining activities.
The ED’s probe led them to a State Bank of India branch in Patancheru, where they found lockers registered under the MLA’s name containing approximately Rs 1 crore worth of gold.
In addition to the gold discovery, the ED is also investigating a mining scandal involving the MLA’s brother, G. Madhusudhan Reddy, and other associates. Sources within the agency revealed that there are no receipts or documentation for the gold biscuits, though they clarified that the gold originated from the domestic market and was not imported.
The ED also seized documents related to about 100 real estate properties owned by the MLA, his son Vikram Reddy, his brother Madhusudhan Reddy, and various benamis.

Earlier, the ED had conducted raids on properties linked to the MLA and his family, seizing mobile phones for forensic examination. This investigation follows an FIR filed by Patancheru police, which alleges illegal exploitation of metals and minerals worth Rs 300 crores. The MLA’s brother had previously been arrested in connection with this case.
