Delhi/Hyderabad, April 7 (Maxim News): Rajya Sabha Chairman CP Radhakrishnan has rejected the impeachment notice filed by the opposition against Chief Electoral Officer (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar. On March 12, 63 MPs had moved the impeachment notice in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, alleging that CEC Gyanesh Kumar was showing a favorable attitude towards the ruling BJP at the Centre and acting in a biased manner against opposition parties.
The notice sought his removal from the post of CEC. Seven main allegations were made against him. The main allegation made by the opposition parties is that the EC is carrying out a ‘sir’ process across the country to benefit the BJP at the Centre. (Maxim News)
