Kishan Reddy Defends Centre, Accuses Opposition of Misleading People
Hyderabad, March 23 (Maxim News): Union Minister for Coal and Mines and Telangana BJP President G. Kishan Reddy dismissed the recent meeting of opposition parties—including the Congress, BRS, DMK, and Left parties—in Chennai over the delimitation of parliamentary constituencies, calling it “meaningless.”
Speaking on Saturday, Kishan Reddy clarified that the Centre has not yet made any decisions regarding the procedure, rules, or regulations for delimitation. He accused the opposition of spreading misconceptions and misleading people by claiming that the process would harm southern states. He alleged that their real motive was not protecting the interests of South India but attacking the BJP for political gains.
Opposition Parties Face Public Backlash, Says Kishan Reddy
Kishan Reddy claimed that the Congress is facing public anger for failing to fulfill its promises in Telangana and Karnataka. Similarly, he pointed out that the DMK in Tamil Nadu is struggling with growing dissatisfaction due to allegations of nepotism and corruption.
Regarding the BRS, he said the party suffered a major setback after losing power in Telangana and failing to win a single seat in the parliamentary elections. He also noted that the party chose not to contest the recent MLC elections, further indicating its declining influence.
Accusations of Creating a North-South Divide
Kishan Reddy accused opposition parties of deliberately trying to divide North and South India to stir emotions and distract people from their failures. He criticized the Congress for pushing instability through different agendas, saying that after their previous strategies failed, they have now turned to delimitation as a new political tactic.
He reiterated that the Centre has not taken any decision on delimitation, and the claims being made by the opposition are unfounded and politically motivated.
