Hyderabad: The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen will be contesting the Assembly election to held in Karnataka in May next year, party president Asaduddin Owaisi announced here.
Mr Owaisi was meeting with the Karnataka MIM unit at the party headquarters Darusalam.
“If we are silent our identity will be end in Indian politics. There is no difference between BJP and Congress,” he said.
He said the Congress was speaking about the freedom of expression. “There is no freedom of expression in Congress ruled states. They are not allowing me to address a meeting in Karnataka,” he said.
He strongly condemned the arrest of Mr Usman Ghani, president of the Karnataka MIM unit when the Tipu Sultan jayanti was being celebrated by the Karnataka government in Ilkal, Bagalkot district. He said that in the 16 general elections, Muslims had never supported communal forces
