Police register negligence case against polio drop centre – indtoday.com

The LB Nagar police on Sunday registered a case against the staff of polio drop centre whose alleged negligence led to the death of an 18-month baby girl.

According to police, the victim, Pranavi of Shiva Shankar Colony in Nagole, was taken by her parents to a polio drop centre at Government Anganwadi School in Bandlaguda on Saturday. She was administered polio drops and injection. She was also given a tablet in case she gets fever. The girl’s parents administered her a tablet after she got fever in the evening. However, her condition deteriorated in the early hours of Sunday. She was immediately rushed to a nearby private hospital where doctors declared her brought dead.

Based on a complaint lodged by girl’s father Sai Kumar, LB Nagar police registered a case under Section 304 A and began investigation.
