Hyderabad, April 16: Telangana government released the caste survey data conducted in 2024–25. The data has been placed on the planning department website for public access.
Ponnam Prabhakar said the survey covers 1.12 crore families and a population of 3.55 crore. He added that the release was delayed due to elections and administrative reasons.
The minister said the move comes amid a national debate on delimitation and women’s reservation. He stated that Telangana aims to set an example by making such data transparent.

Officials said over one lakh enumerators and 76,000 data entry operators were involved. The survey began on November 6, 2024. The first phase was completed within 50 days.
The second phase was conducted through multiple channels. These included GHMC offices, a missed call system, a mobile app, and Mee Seva centres. This ensured wider participation across regions.
The survey is titled Socio, Economic, Educational, Employment, Political and Caste Survey 2024. It aims to provide comprehensive data for policy planning and welfare schemes.
Authorities said the data will help in evidence based decision making. It is expected to guide future policies on social justice and development.
