Telangana: HC Abolishes Special Magistrate Courts

Hyderabad, March 27 (Maxim News): Telangana High Court issued orders abolishing all the existing special magistrate courts in Telangana. The registrar general of the HC said that the orders would come into force from April 1, next month. He also said that a total of 53 special magistrate courts from Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy districts would become a thing of past with these orders.

The courts were set up ten years back in the State to deal with cases which has punishment of less than two years and cheque bounces cases . They were run with the help of retired magistrates. The HC has taken the decision following the creation of 15 permanent courts in Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy districts. (Maxim News)
