Civil Supplies conduct raids on petrol bunks in City

Hyderabad: The Civil Supplies Department took serious action on receiving several complaints from the people on the alleged fraud in petrol bunks across the State. There were several reports of shortage in quantity of petrol / diesel poured to the customers in several parts of the State petrol bunks.

Taking this as a serious note, Commissioner Civil Supplies C.V. Anand formed a special squad to make surprise checks on the petrol bunks throughout the State. The squads will be under the guidance of District Joint Collectors. DCSO, ACSO of Civil Supplies Department, along with official from Legal Metrology department and representatives from Oil companies will be members in the committee. If necessary, local police support will be taken.

Since two days, surprise checks were being conducted in petrol bunks in different parts of the State and it would continue for one week. In Hyderabad, four squads will operate under CRO Balamayadevi. During the last two days, raids were conducted in 130 petrol bunks. Cases were booked in Sangareddy – 1, Peddapalli – 2, Macherial – 1, Medchal – 2, Kothagudem – 1. In the raids in five bunks showed shortage of about 100 ML in one liter of petrol / Diesel. In another instance, cases were booked on two bunks which were operating even after expiry date.
