Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan to flag off Osmania University Centenary Run Today

Hyderabad: More than 5,000 students and staff members are expected to take part in the Osmania University Run scheduled to be held at the campus on Saturday.

Speaking to scribes here on Thursday, Prof. H Venkateshwarlu, Special Officer, Centenary Celebrations, said about 50 sports persons who have represented the university in sports competitions at different levels will also be taking part in the event and nearly 800 NCC and NSS student volunteers are expected to join the Run which is to be coordinated by 200 volunteers.

The Run to be flagged-off by the Governor, E.S.L. Narasimhan will have the participation of teaching and non-teaching staff, alumni and also retired university staff. Starting from University College of Arts and Social Sciences at 6.45 a.m., the Run will touch the Law College , Ladies Hostel, Engineering College and NCC Gate before returning to the Arts College premises, Prof. Venkateshwarlu said.

Gates to be closed by 6.30AM
Prof.Venkateshwarlu urged participants to be present at the Arts College before 6.30 a.m. as university gates are to be closed at 6.30 a.m. on Saturday.

Car Parking:
Participants reaching the venue in cars can park their vehicles at College of Sciences, Central Facilities for Research and Development and College of Law. “Vehicles will not be allowed to park near Arts College. The university has arranged water facility and is taking care of all other requirements for the event,” he added.
