KCR wants 20K posts in education dept filled in a week

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has instructed that the process for appointment of 20,000 employees in various educational institutions in the State should be speeded up and the appointments should be done very soon. He also wanted the process for the appointment of people in the educational institutions should begin within a week.

The Chief Minister held a high-level review meeting at Pragathi Bhavan here on Tuesday on the appointment of teaching and non-teaching staff in the educational institutions. TS Public Service Commission Chairman Prof. Ghanta Chakrapani, Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari, Ministers Tummala Nageswara Rao, Jagdeesh Reddy, Chief Advisor Rajiv Sharma, Chief Secretary SP Singh participated.

The CM said the government has accorded permission for the filling of 20,000 vacancies and reviewed the progress. Prof Ghanta Chakrapani said of these, notifications are issued for some and some will be given notifications shortly and some more appointments will be held within a week’s time.

1428 posts in KBGVs:
The CM wanted completion of appointments in Kastur Ba Gandhi Girls Vidyalayas in the state. There are 84 KBGV schools starting in the state and there is a need to fill up 1428 posts, 840 teaching and 588 non-teaching. The government has already given permission for the appointments and they need to be completed soon, the CM said.

377 posts in urban residential Schools:
The Chief Minister said including the 29 newly formed district headquarters, the government has sanctioned 377 posts for the urban residential schools. Of this, 174 are teaching and 203 are non-teaching. The CM asked the Collectors to fill these vacancies immediately.

7,300 teachers in residential schools:
Prof. Ghanta Chakrapani said a notification was given for the appointment of 7,300 teachers in new residential schools and written test for this will be held on May 31. The CM wanted the appointments to be done immediately after the written test without any delay.

8,792 teacher posts in schools:
The CM said the government has sanctioned the filling up of 8,792 teachers ‘posts in the government schools. He has instructed the TSPSC to issue notification in this regard

TSPSC Chairman Prof Chakrapani said notification for the filling up of posts in Social Welfare Gurukul Residential Junior, degree Colleges and government departments numbering 2,437 will be issued on the State Formation day on June 2. Among these are the posts of Principals, Lecturers, Civil engineers and Veterinary Doctors. The CM wanted these appointments also to be done quickly. The CM has instructed the TSPSC Chairman to review the vacancies position in the government and take measures for the filling up of the vacancies. He wanted the TSPSC Chairman to have regular review meeting with the CS and take measures accordingly.
