Secunderabad: The Secunderabad Government Railway Police here arrested a five-member Pardhi Gang, including a woman, on charges of stealing gold ornaments from bags of passengers travelling in trains.
The arrested were identified as Shoba Deepak (22), Dhanraj Hari Kale (28), Kishore Uddav (20), Bhagawan Das Pawar (38) and Mahadev Ashok Kale (28), all natives of Varakatni village of Kamala Taluk in Solapur of Maharashtra. Gold ornaments weighing 90 tolas and Rs 90,000 all together worth over Rs 27 lakh, were recovered from them.
In 2016, Shoba had divorced her husband and developed an illicit relationship with his brother. The duo, along with the other gang members, came to Ramagundam and started committing offences. The gang was involved in offences that took place in Kazipet, Mancherial, Dornakal and Warangal railway police station limits, police said.
