PM to dedicate Narmada dam to nation

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will dedicate the Narmada dam to the nation on September 17.He will be arriving at 0900 hrs at Kevadiya Colony and pay obeisance at the Narmada river, an official told reporters here.

The work of the dam is complete now, Superintendent Engineer R G Kunungo of the Sardar Sarovar Narmada Nigam Limited said. The Prime Minister will be briefed about the construction work being done at the Statue of Unity, the world’s highest statue, being erected at the Narmada dam.

From the Narmada dam, Mr Modi will go to Dabhoi and address a public meeting.

India first Home Minister Saradar Vallabhbhai Patel had a vision of constructing such a dam in 1946 and now in 2017, the Prime Minister will dedicate it to the nation.
