16 ATC Officers Graduate From Air Force Academy

Secunderabad, Sep. 17 (Maxim News): In an impressive Graduation Ceremony held at Air Traffic Control Officers Training Establishment (ATCOTE) at Air Force Academy, Dundigal, Hyderabad.

Sixteen trainee officers successfully completed 139th Air Traffic Surveillance Services (ATSS) Course. Air Marshal Sanjeev Kapoor, Commandant, Air Force Academy was the Reviewing Officer on the occasion. The young military Air Traffic Controllers, after having undergone a 12 week long course, can now perform the highly demanding and skillful task of controlling aircrafts using modern radars.

ATCOTE is a premier Air Traffic Control Training Establishment of the country. It undertakes training for IAF Officers apart from officers from the Indian Army, Indian Navy, Indian Coast Guard, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited and officers from Friendly Foreign Countries in the field of Air Traffic Services.

Twelve Air Traffic Control Officers from the Indian Air Force, three from the Indian Navy and one from the Kenya Air Force graduated as Radar Controllers. Among the Course participants Squadron Leader SP Pavithran was adjudged as First in Order of Merit and best in practical. Flight Lieutenant Jasleen Kaur Walia was adjudged best in Theory.

In his valedictory speech, Air Marshal Sanjeev Kapoor, highlighted the importance of Radar Controllers’ role in mission accomplishment. He apprised the graduating trainees on the challenges ahead in the field of aviation and advised them to achieve professional excellence by remaining abreast with modern developments in the field of Radar Controlling. He wished the graduating officers success in their future endeavours. (Maxim News)
