19 Palestinians Killed as Israeli Strikes Hit Gaza
Gaza Strip/Internet/Hyderabad, March 23 (Maxim News): At least 19 Palestinians, including a senior Hamas political leader, were killed in Israeli airstrikes across the southern Gaza Strip overnight, officials reported on Sunday.
Hamas Leader Among the Dead
Among those killed was Salah Bardawil, a member of Hamas’ political bureau and the Palestinian parliament. Hamas confirmed that Bardawil and his wife were killed in an airstrike near Khan Younis, a southern city in Gaza. Bardawil was a prominent figure in Hamas’ political wing and had frequently appeared in the media over the years.
According to the European and Kuwaiti hospitals in southern Gaza, they received 17 bodies from overnight strikes, including women and children. However, Bardawil and his wife were not included in the death toll reported by hospitals.
Meanwhile, Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen, who are allied with Hamas, launched another missile attack on Israel, triggering air raid sirens. The Israeli military reported that the projectile was intercepted, and there were no casualties or damage.
Renewed Fighting After Ceasefire Ends
Israel ended its temporary ceasefire with Hamas last week, launching a wave of airstrikes that have since killed hundreds of Palestinians across Gaza. In response, the Houthis resumed their attacks on Israel, portraying them as acts of solidarity with the Palestinian people. (Maxim News)
