26 Gates of Nagarjuna Sagar Dam Lifted Up
Nalgonda/Hyderabad, August 8 (Maxim News): The Nagarjuna Sagar project continues to face heavy flooding. In response, 26 gates have been lifted to release the excess water. Specifically, 22 gates have been raised by 5 feet and 4 gates by 10 feet.

A flood of 2.53 lakh cusecs is currently flowing into the Nagarjuna Sagar, with 2.69 lakh cusecs being released downstream.
The full water level of the Sagar is 590 feet, and it is presently at 585.30 feet. The maximum water storage capacity of the project is 312.50 TMC, but it is now recorded at 298.30 TMC.

Nagarjuna Sagar Impact on the Pulichintala Project
Due to the heavy inflow, the Pulichintala project downstream has been filled. While 2.57 lakh cusecs of floodwater are entering the reservoir, 2.30 lakh cusecs are being released downstream through 11 gates. The full water level of the project is 175 feet, currently standing at 167.9 feet. The current water storage is 35.50 TMC out of a total capacity of 45.77 TMC. (Maxim News)
