2,606 New Covid Cases, 2 Deaths reported in Telangana on Saturday

Hyderabad: The daily new Covid-19 positive infections driven by the Omicron variant have continued to surge in Telangana with authorities on Saturday reporting 2,606 cases out of which 1,583 cases were from areas under GHMC. The health authorities have also reported two fatalities on Saturday, which has taken the total number of deaths to 4041 in Telangana. A total of 292 positive infections from Medchal-Malkajgiri and 214 positive infections from Rangareddy were also reported on Saturday.

On Friday, the number of Covid positive cases were 2,295 out of which 1,452 were from areas under GHMC, 232 were from Medchal-Malkajgiri and 218 were from Rangareddy district. A total of 285 persons have recovered on Saturday from Covid, taking the cumulative number of recoveries in Telangana to 6, 76, 136. Authorities conducted 73,156 Covid tests on Saturday out of which results of 11,167 tests are awaited.

With 2,606 new infections, the cumulative number of positive cases so far in Telangana has reached 6,92,357 out of which 6,76,136 have recovered with a recovery rate of 97.65 per cent. The surge of Covid-19 infections has led to an increase in active cases, which is at 12,180 positive infections, as on Saturday across Telangana.
