28 Lakh Vaccine Doses Allocated to Telangana for July
Hyderabad: The availability of Covid vaccines is expected to ease in Telangana with the Union government on Thursday allocating close to 28 lakh vaccine doses for July.
With Covid vaccines expected to be available readily, the State government’s decision to open up vaccination for individuals above 18 years might just prove timely and justified.
The Union Health Ministry on Thursday projected that it will be able to supply 27,99,290 doses to Telangana in July. The target population of individuals above 18 years of age who have to be administered with Covid vaccine in the State is 2.2 crore.
Of the 28 lakh vaccines, Telangana will receive about 23,22,990 Covishield doses while the rest (4,76,300 doses) will be of Covaxin. The Government Covid Vaccination Centres (GCVCs) across the State will get 17,42,240 Covishield doses while private hospitals get about 5,80,750 doses of the vaccine.
Similarly, 3,57,230 Covaxin doses will be supplied to GCVCs and the rest (1,19,080 doses) to private hospitals.
Andhra Pradesh has received an allocation of 70,86,320 doses against a projected target population of over 18 years of 5,57,87,608. The neighbouring State is expected to get 58,80,590 Covishield and 12,05,730 Covaxin doses.
