Hyderabad, July 13 (Maxim News): TPCC OBC Cell Chairman Kathi Venkataswami on Saturday said the previous Congress government in the State had implemented 34 percent reservations for BC communities in the State despite the fact that several cases were filed challenging the decision of the then State government. He also alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao reduced the reservations of the BCs as he was anti-BC leader .
Venkataswami said all the district chairmen of the TPCC OBC cells would meet the district Collectors and urge them to continue the 34 percent reservations in the upcoming municipal elections. He said they would also submit a representation to the State Election Commissioner on July 20. He warned the State government that they would launch a State-wide agitation if their demands were not conceded. Stating that they would strive to ensure victory of the party, he said their leader late Rajiv Gandhi had introduced the local governments in the country through 73rd and 74th amendments to the Constitution.
