556th Birthday Celebration Of First Sikh Guru, Guru Nanak Dev Ji From November 1 To 5,
Hyderabad, Oct 28 (Maxim News): The major festival of Sikh Community across the world “Sri Guru Nanak Devji Birthday celebrations the first Sikh Guru and founder of Sikh Religion, who spread the message of peace and communal harmony across the world is going to be celebrated on a grand and mammoth scale in Telangana from November 1 to November 5, 2025.
To mark the important 556th birth celebrations of Guru Nanak Devji, Prabandhak Committees of Gurudwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Guru Nanak Marg, Ashok Bazar, Afzalgunj and Gurudwara Saheb Secunderabad have joined hands to make the celebrations a grand success.
In this context, two grand colourful, “Naghar Keertans’ (Holy Processions) will be taken out by Gurudwara Saheb Secunderabad at 4 pm on November 1, 2025 (Saturday) and another from Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Guru Nanak Marg, Ashok Bazar, Afzalgunj at 4 pm on November 3, 2025 (Monday).
On the day of `’Prakash Utsav celebrations” which falls on November 5, 2025 (Wednesday), a grand “Vishaal Deewan” (Mass Congregation) will be held at Exhibition Grounds, Nampally from 10.30 am to 4.30 pm on November 5, 2025.

Giving full details about the celebrations to the media during the press meet, Prabandhak Committee, Presidents, Satvinder Singh Bagga (GSGSS), S Baldev Singh Bagga (GSS), Jaspal Singh Tuteja (GSGSS Vice President), General Secretaries, Jagmohan Singh (GSS), Joginder Singh Mujral (GSGSS), Secretary, Harpreet Singh Gulati (GSS) and other committee members said that 556th birth celebrations of Guru Nanak Devji will be celebrated on a grand scale.
As part of the Prakash Utsav celebrations, a colourful ‘’Nagar Keertan” will be taken out at 4 pm on November 1, 2025 (Saturday) from Gurudwara Saheb Secunderabad and proceed via Clock Tower, BATA, Patny Circle, Kingsway, Monda Market, Alpha Hotel and reach Gurudwara Saheb Secunderabad in the evening.

Thousands of devotees from across the state will take part in the procession. Guru Granth Sahebji (Revered Holy Scripture of the Sikhs) will be carried on a beautifully decorated vehicle along with “Nishaan Sahebans” (Religious Flags) all along the procession. The Holy Procession will be marked by rendering of Shabad Kirtans (Holy Hymns) by Jatha Tera Jatha, Istri Satsang and other Keerthani Jathas of men and women.
Major attraction of the procession will be the display of “GATKA” a famous Sikh martial art form and other breathtaking sword exercises all along procession by the Jai Tegang Gatka Akhara (Amritsar), Dashmesh Kalgidhar Jatha. “Panj Pyaras” (five beloved ones) in their traditional attire will be the cynosure of attraction in the procession.

Another colourful “Nagar Keertan” (Holy Procession) will be taken out on November 3 (Monday) at 4 pm from Gurudwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Afzalgunj and will pass through Afzalgunj, Siddiamber Bazar, Jambagh, Putli Bowli, Central Gurdwara Sahib Gowliguda and reach Gurudwara Singh Sabha, Afzalgung in the evening at around 9 pm.

Birthday Celebration 556th Prakash Utsav
As the main 556th Prakash Utsav (Birthday Celebrations) of Guru Nanak Devji falls on November 5, 2025 a ‘`VISHAAL DEEWAN” (MASS CONGREGATION) will be held at sprawling Exhibition Grounds, Nampally Road from 10.30 am to 4 pm on November 5, where over 25,000 Sikh devotees and other community faiths will converge at the event. The event will be marked by recitations of Gurbani Kirtans (Holy Hymns) by the reputed Ragi Jathas (religious preachers) who are being specially invited from various parts of the country to render shabad kirtans.
Bhai Harjinder Singhji (Srinagar wale), Bhai Baljeet Singh (USA wale), Gyani Sahib Singhji Markanda wale, Hazuri Ragi Jathas, Bhai Hari SInghji, Bhai Jagdev Singhji, Bhai Harwinder Singh and other reputed Katha Vachaks and Ragi Jathas will recite Shabad Keertans and Kathas (sermons) and throw light on the teachings of Guru Nanak who stood for peace, equality and humanity. After the culmination of the congregation Guru Ka Langar (free community kitchen) will be served to the devotees.
A Night Keertan Darbar will be organised on November 4 (Tuesday) at Gurudwara Saheb Secunderabad from 7 pm to 10.30 pm. Another Night Keertan Darbar will be organised at Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Afzalgunj on November 5 from 9 pm to 2 am in which the above famous Ragi Jathas will recite Gurbani kirtans.
