76 families in Vasalamarri will get Rs 10 lakh each, houses: CM

Hyderabad, Aug.4 (Maxim News): Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today exhorted the Dalits to work unitedly for empowerment by avoiding conflicts and withdrawing cases if any. KCR announced to implement Dalit Bandhu scheme in the village and give Rs 10 lakh to each of 76 families on Aug 5 itself. He announced that a GO will be released on Wednesday itself for Rs 7.60 cr towards Dalit Bandhu for SC families get Rs 10 lakhs each.

The Chief Minister asked them to make use of the money being offered and do business of their choice to empower in future.

About 15 lakh SC families reside in Telangana state most of them are poor and to get housing and lands.

The Government will implement Dalit Bandhu until the SC people get empowered besides providing all facilities like housing, water, power, roads, dumping yard, and cemetery CM KCR announced.

As per an estimate, 76 families of Dalits have houses and the government will build new houses for them and give a piece of land out of 100 acres of land existing, he said. All should work for each other to develop and not go down financially.

Dalit Protection fund will help the villagers in distress, as they get about Rs 3.75 lakh income a year by doing their own business, he said. No need of banks, or paying installments, Dalits can develop financially like Marwadis, he said and asked them to support him.

KCR said that a new Vasalamarri village would be constructed by demolishing all the houses, roads, power, drainage and all facilities on the lines of Erravalli near his farm house. The housing and land to be given to the villagers as the collector will address the problem of land grabbers. He said that Vasalamarri village he adopted in Yadadri Bhuvangiri district to be developed on par with all other villages and towns.

The Chief Minister took lunch at Sarpanch Anjaneyulu residence along with former council chairman, Gutha Sukhender Reddy, MLA and government Whip Sunitha Mahender Reddy, MLC and poet Goreti Venkanna, CMO OSD and poet Deshapathi Srinivas, Village Sarpanch Anjaneyulu and Collector and officials. We plan to empower the Dalits in a systematic manner and ensure development and avoid comments by the opposition parties, KCR said.

Praising Goreti Venkanna a dalit poet who penned lyrics the chief minster narrated about the woes and difficulties of the Dalits. The dalit community has been suppressed and deprived of facilities for decades and Dr BR Ambedkar made best efforts for Dealits welfare and empowerment.

With Ambedkar initiative Dalits got jobs, political and financial empowerment to some extent. On the path we need to follow to help the Dalits to develop and who are lagging behind. The Dalits face poverty and misery and it is true they work and toil for livelihood, KCR said adding to develop them. (Maxim News)
