Supreme Court Likely To Hear Petition On Governor After Holi Holidays

Delhi/Hyderabad, March 3 (Maxim News): The Telangana government’s petition against the Governor is likely to be heard in the Supreme court after the Holi holidays. However, this petition was not brought up by the Telangana government in the Supreme Court today.

It may be recalled that on Thursday, the Telangana government filed a petition in the Supreme Court against the Governor for not giving a green signal to the bills passed in the Assembly. Related sources say that the date allowed by the Registrar has not been mentioned for the trial. Meanwhile, the Supreme Court has Holi holidays from tomorrow. The Supreme court will resume its activities after the Holi holidays. Because of this, the Telangana government will likely hear the petition after another week.

The State government approached the Supreme Court on governor Tamilisai Soundararajan saying that the Governor did not approve the bills passed in the Assembly. The petition states that ten bills have been kept pending till now, while seven bills have been pending since September last year, the Governor has not approved even three bills sent after the recent budget meetings. In a petition, the Chief Secretary included the Governor’s Secretary as a respondent.

The Telangana government has revealed in the petition that many bills passed by the legislature have been given the seal of approval and constitutional deadlock is often occurring, the Supreme Court under Article 32 should not knock on the door of the Court to exercise its jurisdiction.
