Police Took Sharmila Into Custody: Demand Inquiry By Central Agencies On Kaleshwaram Project Corruption

Delhi/Hyderabad, Mar 14 (Maxim News):  YSRTP President Y. S Sharmila has taken up agitation at Jantar Mantar in Delhi.  She demanded an inquiry by the Central Investigation Agencies CBI and ED into the corruption by Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao and his family in the construction of the Kaleswaram project.  The YSRTP leaders and workers raised slogans, they chanted “KCR Hatho, Telangana bachao”  

Sharmila accused Chief Minister KCR of collecting thousands of crores of commissions in the name of the Kaleswaram project, she said that in the name of redesigning, the cost of the Kaleshwaram project has been tripled.  She once again accused the Kaleshwaram project was built only for commissions. 

She alleged that the Kaleshwaram project is the biggest scam in the country.  She accused KCR of stealing lakhs of crores of people’s money.  She said that the Rs. 38 thousand crore project has been increased to Rs. 1.50 lakh crore.  The construction cost of the project has been increased three times. 

Sharmila said that many people have become homeless due to the project and the state government has not given them compensation till now.  She expressed concern that the project was built without quality and thousands of acres of crop fields have been submerged.  She said KCR has cheated the people of  Telangana as well as the people of the country.  It is alleged that corruption of Rs. 70 thousand crores has taken place in the construction of the project and it is a bigger scam than the 2G and coal scam. 

Sharmila has been taken into custody by the Delhi Police, and YSRTP cadres took out a march to Parliament against KCR’s corrupt rule.  The police stopped Sharmila’s March to Parliament, this led to a scuffle between YSRTP ranks and the police.  (Maxim News)
