Delhi Liquor Scam: ED’s New Summon to the MLC Kavitha

Delhi Liquor Scam | Delhi/Hyderabad, March 16 (Maxim News): The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has issued notice once again to BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha, daughter of Chief Minister Kalvakuntla Chandrasekhar Reddy in the Delhi Liquor Scam. ED issued notice to Kavitha to appear for hearing on March 20.

It may be recalled that Kavitha has approached the Supreme Court and filed the petition seeking direction to stop ED inquiry in Delhi Liquor Scam but the Supreme Court refused to stay it and directed to appear for the ED inquiry and posted the matter on March 24. The Supreme Court further said that Kavitha has to appear before the ED by next hearing.

There are currently three options in front of Kavitha. Appearing in ED hearing on March 20, seeking stay in Supreme Court on ED summons, going for anticipatory bail, let’s see how Kavitha reacts.

One of the other accused in Delhi Liquor Scam and partner of Kavitha Ramachandra Pillai was produced by the ED in Rouse Avenue Court. The ED asked the court to extend Ramachandrapillai’s custody. Further, Pillai’s custody has been extended till the 20th of this month. The ED said that they should be interrogated along with Kavitha, but Kavitha did not attend the inquiry today.

The special court bench asked the ED to try all of them together. ED told the court that Kavitha is a suspect in the liquor case. The Court asked the ED to interrogate Kavita along with Pillai. (Maxim News)
