Higher Defence Management Course Serial-18 Concludes

Secunderabad: Hundred and sixty-three Tri-Services officers including fourteen officers from Friendly Foreign Countries successfully completed the Higher Defence Management Course (HDMC) at the College of Defence Management (CDM), Secunderabad on 24 Mar 2023. Admiral R Hari Kumar, PVSM, AVSM, VSM, ADC, Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) presided over the Valedictory Ceremony and felicitated the graduating officers for the successful completion of 44 weeks of curriculum.

Admiral Hari Kumar, in his Valedictory address to the participants, highlighted that the prevailing complex security environment necessitates the use of transformational initiatives through divergent thinking to achieve ‘Rashtra Nirmaan’ aligned with the National Vision 2047. He alluded to the challenges in their future appointments and exhorted them to use qualitative insights backed by the quantitative rationale to take informed decisions to bridge the execution gaps in multi-domain operations. He emphasized knowledge acquisition as the tipping point in the successful resolution of versatile and complex national and global issues and using a whole national approach in pursuance of national interests. The CNS encouraged the participants on the development of strategic thought, application of disruptive technologies, and integration seamlessly amongst the three Services for effective execution of operations.

Participant officers from Bangladesh, Bhutan, Ghana, Kenya, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, and Sri Lanka, were also awarded a degree in Master of Management Studies (MMS) from Osmania University and a Certificate of Advance Course in Management by All India Management Association (AIMA).
