Cyberabad Police Busted International Fake Amazon Prime Subscription Call Center

International Fake Amazon Prime Subscription Call Center | Hyderabad, April 5 (Maxim News): The sleuths Special Operations Team (SOT) Medchal Zone busted an international fake call center at Petbasheerabad PS limited and arrested 13 people, for cheating people based in Australia by posing as tech support team staff of Amazon Prime.

According to G.Sundeep, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Medchal Zone, the accused used to call potential targets based in Australia and offered their technical support by telling the victims that their account had either been hacked or had a security threat. The accused persons used illegal techniques and Voice over Internet Protocol calls. The victims were made to pay the specified amount through gift cards which were redeemed at the AUS-based bank accounts by the overseas contacts of the accused.

A total of 13 persons were present at the call center who were on spot and engaged in calls with foreign nationals by impersonating themselves as tech support of Amazon Prime were arrested and recovered 13 Nos. Desktop monitors, 14 Nos CPUs, 13 Nos headSets, One hard Dist, One Pen Drive, One Memory Card, 8 Nos New SIM cards, 18 Nos. mobile phones, two diesel make wrist watches, One Hill finger wristwatch, One Fortuner Car TN-11/J 3232, Net cash of Rs. 5,940, internet routers, telecommunication software, and incriminating data in the computers and mobile phones among other materials.
