Nitin Gadkari to Launch Toyota Camry, India’s First Ethanol-Powered Car

Union Road Transport and National Highways Minister, Nitin Gadkari, has announced a significant step towards enhancing the country’s green economy.

In an effort to reduce reliance on petrol, diesel, and CNG, Gadkari will be launching the Toyota Camry, a car that will run entirely on ethanol.

This groundbreaking move aims to provide an alternative fuel option to Indian consumers.

The launch of the ethanol-powered Toyota Camry is expected to take place in August.

Bid Farewell to Costly Fuels

With the introduction of ethanol-fueled vehicles, customers will bid farewell to expensive petrol, diesel, and CNG.

This will alleviate the burden faced by consumers due to rising fuel costs.

Nitin Gadkari emphasized that the country will witness the launch of vehicles that run solely on ethanol in the near future.

Initiatives from Other Brands

Nitin Gadkari recently met with the chairman of Mercedes Benz, who shared plans to produce only electric vehicles going forward.

Gadkari also revealed that new vehicles powered by ethanol are in the pipeline.

This includes scooters manufactured by leading brands like Bajaj, TVS, and Hero MotoCorp, which will run on 100% ethanol.

Toyota Camry’s Efficiency and Affordability

The highly-anticipated launch of the Toyota Camry, running entirely on ethanol, is set to revolutionize the automotive industry.

Additionally, the vehicle is expected to generate 40% electricity.

In terms of cost, ethanol is priced at Rs 60 per liter, while petrol stands at Rs 120 per liter.

Consequently, ethanol-powered vehicles like the Toyota Camry will offer a more economical option, with an estimated fuel cost of Rs 15 per liter.

Furthermore, the production of 40% electricity through ethanol will contribute to its affordability.
