Smuggling In A New Ways: Gold Sarees Caught At RGIA

Hyderabad, Aug 4 (Maxim News): Smugglers are choosing new ways to smuggle gold. New heights are being taken especially for gold smuggling through airports. However, due to the strong inspection system at the airports, many incidents are coming to light.  

Another similar incident came to light at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGTIA) today. A golden saree was caught.  it was found in a traveler from Dubai.  Customs officials revealed that 461 grams of gold was seized from him.

Officials have calculated that the value of the said gold will be up to Rs. 28.01 lakhs.  Meanwhile, the accused sprayed gold on the saree without being detected by the customs officials.  the passenger was arrested after finding out that he had tried to trick the customs officials. the case is being investigated, said the customs officials.  (Maxim News)
