Popular Revolutionary Singer Gaddar Passed Away

Hyderabad, Aug 6 (Maxim News): Popular Revolutionary singer Gaddar (74) is no more.  he was suffering from illness for some time and passed away today while undergoing treatment at Apollo Hospital.  he was admitted to Apollo Spectra Hospital in Ameerpet a few days ago due to a heart attack.  

Gaddar breathed his last while undergoing treatment there. Gaddar, who is known as a public battleship, inspired crores of people with his voice during the People’s War, Maoist, and Telangana movements.

Gaddar was born in 1949 in tupran.  His real name is Gummadi Vithal Rao. He played a vital role in the Telangana Movement. He gave good impetus to the movements with his songs.  In 1987, Gaddar tirelessly fought against the killings of Dalits in Karamchedu.

He strongly opposed fake encounters. It was in this order that an assassination attempt was made on April 6, 1997.  Amma Telangana, Gaddar who gave impetus to the movement with the songs of Pudusanya paddumiya…nee padam naya Puttumachchanai also received the Nandi Award for the song.  However, he refused to accept the Nandi Award.

He was born in 1949 to Seshaiah and Lachamma in a Dalit family.  Gaddar Santoor in Tupran village in Medak district.  Gaddar actively participated in the Telangana movement in 1969.  He re-campaigned in Urura to spread the sentiment.  for this he chose Burrakatha.  film director B. Narasing Rao, who saw his performance, organized a performance on Bhagat Singh’s birthday.  After that every Sunday Gaddar used to give his performances.  In 1971 he wrote the song “Apara Rickshaw” with the encouragement of B. Narasing Rao.  His first album was Tiled Gaddar.  this became his name. (Maxim News) 

ROLE OF GADDAR IN THE TELANGANA MOVEMENT

Gaddar, a popular singer, played an active role in the Telangana movement.  Gaddar, who is known as the public battleship, inspired crores of people with his voice during the People’s War, Maoist, and Telangana movements, impressed with his voice.  In one word, he gave good momentum to the movements of his songs.  amma Telangana, he gave a boost to the movement with the songs of pudsanya poddumiya.

In the movie Maa Bhumi, he played the role of Yadagiri, an armed fighter, Bandenaka bandi Katti, a song sung by yadagiri was also sung and played by Gaddar himself.  He wears gochi dhoti below and gangli above.  His songs still inspire people.

Despite having a strong communist ideology, he did not share his sentiments with some communist parties who opposed a separate Telangana state.  Gaddar has been pro-Telangana since the beginning.  Even when the Maoist Party decided against Telangana, he supported Telangana.  He also supported Devender Goud when formed Nava Telangana Party.

Gaddar, who fought hard for Telangana, has been expressing deep dissatisfaction with KCR’s administration after the creation of a separate state. (Maxim News)
