Tomato Rates Continue To Fall Down In Hyderabad: Rs 100 For 2 Kgs On Roads

Hyderabad, Aug 9 (Maxim News): Tomato price, which was sky high till yesterday, has fallen to the ground.  Tomato, priced at Rs. 200 for a few weeks, is now available in 2 kgs at Rs. 100 on the roads.  The vendors carrying tomatoes in the trolley are shouting and selling. 

It may be recalled, that INDTODAY yesterday reported that :

“The prices are gradually coming down. Hyderabad received 850 quintals of tomatoes till Monday and 2,450 quintals on the same day, as a result, the prices went down. 

Additionally, tomato is also coming from the surrounding districts of Hyderabad on a large scale.  At present, the price of a kilo tomato in Rythu Bazar is Rs. 63 while in the outside market, it is Rs. 120.  At the end of August, traders say there is a possibility of a drop below Rs. 50″.  (Maxim News)
