Everyone should work hard to increase the polling percentage: Additional Commissioner

Hyderabad, August 31: GHMC Additional Commissioner Election Shankaraiah said that everyone should work hard to increase the polling percentage in the upcoming assembly general elections. On Thursday, an awareness meeting was held at GHMC head office for differently abled (disabled), representatives of voluntary organizations of adults who are helping for the development of the third gender, and Assistant Nodal Officers.

On this occasion, Shankaraiah said… Election literacy clubs will be set up in secondary level schools for future voters, new voter registration programs will be organized in various degree, engineering colleges, educational institutions and universities to register new voters on a large scale. He said that everyone who is eligible should be registered as a voter by organizing booth level awareness groups under the leadership of BLO in every polling center. He said that steps are being taken to sensitize voters in all government and private offices as per the orders of the GHMC Commissioner. Similarly, representatives of various talented (disabled) and third gender development organizations should cooperate in order to increase the polling percentage. So far the programs implemented through sweep have been explained. He said that during the elections, the voting percentage should be increased by utilizing the facilities provided by the government to women, disabled persons and elderly people above 80 years of age.

Additional Commissioner Chandrakant Reddy said… People’s participation is very important to increase voter registration and voting percentage and everyone should work together in the upcoming elections.

Sweep Nodal Officer Dr. Abdul Vakil said… He created awareness about the programs being carried out on behalf of Sweep. Keeping in mind the future voters, various programs are being organized to make them participate in the elections, apart from that, voter awareness platforms in Chunav schools and digital voter awareness programs will be set up in the respective educational institutions to provide complete awareness so that they can participate in voter registration and voting on a large scale.

The representatives of the voluntary organizations who participated in the meeting said that they will work together with the officials under their jurisdiction to correct the errors in the voter list.
