20 Years Imprisonment To The Accused Under POCSO Act

Hyderabad, Sept 6 (Maxim News)  Special Judge for Trial of Cases under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 cum XII Addl. Metropolitan Sessions Judge, Nampally, Hyderabad  Justice T.Anitha has convicted the accused person Mohammed Irfan to undergo Rigorous Imprisonment of 20 years and to pay a fine of Rs.5,000/-.

The complainant was blessed with three children, one daughter and two sons.  Three of them are studying at Local High School. After one month his two sons after completion of School used to go to the Mosque, near the Falaknuma area to study Arabic Noorani Khaida. But, on March 5, 2018, in the evening hours his second son, aged 9 years came home uncomfortable, so the petitioner’s wife asked him and he replied that after completing prayer at the Mosque at about 17.30 hours the accused person took him into the toilet room and sexually molested the victim boy.  Then, the victim’s father complained in Falaknuma P.S and simultaneously the police sent him to Bharosa Center where his statement was recorded.

Upon the receipt of this complaint, SI Ramakrishna registered FIR in Cr.No. 50/2018, U/sec. 506 IPC & sec. 5 r/w. 6 of the POCSO Act. After completion of the investigation, the Charge Sheet was filed U/sec. 506 IPC & sec. 5 r/w. 6 of the POCSO Act of the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, 2006 against the accused.

The Bharosa Centre has facilitated the victim’s family in Counselling, Medical support, Legal support, and financial support, apart from home visits by Bharosa staff. 

The concerted efforts by the then Investigating Officers, 1st IO  Syed Fiaz, Asst. Commissioner of Police, Falaknuma Division, and 2nd IO  M. A. Rasheed, Asst. The Commissioner of Police, Falaknuma Division, and Court Duty Officers namely  T. Babu Rao, PC  Falaknuma & S. Thirupathi Rao, and PC Shalibanda contributed immensely during the course of the trial which ended in Conviction,

The concerted efforts of Police Officers and Officers at Bharosa Centre were closely monitored by Gajarao Bhoopal IPS, Jt. CP, Crimes & SIT & Women Safety, Hyderabad.
