Asaduddin Owaisi Opposes The ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Abhiyan’ Bill
Delhi/Hyderabad, Sept 19 (Maxim News): AIMIM President and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi opposed the “Nari shakti Vandan Abhyan” Bill, he said that they are against this Bill which does not provide reservations to Muslim women.
He said that the representation is to give representation to those who have no representation, the main flaw in this Bill is the lack of reservation for Muslim women, which is why we (MIM) are opposing the Bill, Owaisi said.
As the Women’s Reservation Bill introduced by the Center is a Constitutional Bill, it required a two-thirds majority to be approved by both the Houses. However, even after approval by both Houses, experts say that if the quota is to be implemented in the form of law, it will be possible only in 2029.
According to the law, one-third of the seats in the Lok Sabha are reserved for women. One-third reservation for women is also applicable in SC and ST reserved seats. It is said that after the 128th amendment of the Constitution, the census will begin in 2027, after which the constituencies will be redistributed and after that, the Bill will come into force from 2029.
