Major Setback To Telangana Congress At This Crucial Juncture: Ponnala Resign

Hyderabad, Oct 13 (Maxim News): In a major setback to the Congress party in the state of Telangana at this crucial juncture when the Congress party puts an effective challenge to Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao’s party in the forthcoming Assembly elections, the senior most Congress leader, former PCC President and former minister, Ponnala Lakshmaiah said goodbye to the party.  

The resignation letter was sent to Congress President Mallikharjun Kharge.  In the letter, he said that he was humiliated in the Congress.

Ponnala Lakshmana served as a minister in the Y.S. Rajshekhara Reddy cabinet in United Andhra Pradesh,  Later, after the formation of Telangana state, he worked as the President of   PCC.  It seems that Ponna resigned due to his dissatisfaction with the Jangaon ticket issue.  There are reports that Ponnala may join BRS. 

“I have 45 years of a political career.  he came to this level from a poor family.  This decision after 45 years is painful.  Everyone knows why this situation has arisen.  I don’t  understand why this happened in my case, :Ponnala got emotional in the press meet.  (Maxim News).
