Remand Report On HMDA Former Director Shiva Balakrishna File: ACB Seek Custody

Hyderabad, Jan 27 (Maxim News): HMDA Former Director Shiva Balakrishna who was arrested in the case of assets beyond income, is currently in Chanchalguda Jail. He was remanded for 14 days by the ACB court. However, the ACB officials filed a petition in the court seeking Balakrishna’s custody for a week.

ACB officials believe that more things will come to light if they are taken into custody and interrogated. On the other hand, in Balakrishna’s remand report, ACB officials revealed sensational things. The 45-page remand report said that Siva Balakrishna did not cooperate in the investigation at all. Shiva Balakrishna, who joined the service in Group-1 cadre in 1994 held key positions in Anantapur, Guntur, Vizag, GHMC, and Municipal Departments. Balakrishna served as Director of HMDA from 2021 to 2023. 

The remand report stated that Balakrishna demanded huge bribes for layout permissions.  Balakrishna said that there were mistakes in the applications and he got the profits. He also took bribes in plots, constructions, and villas. He said that there were huge irregularities in HMDA and RERA under Balakrishna’s leadership. Balakrishna had good control over three zones of HMDA.  Balakrishna served in a key post for a long time. On the other hand, ACB is likely to open the bank lockers after taking Balakrishna into custody. ACB will also investigate the officials who helped Balakrishna.

According to the remand report, ACB searched 18 places including Shiva Balakrishna’s house, and 50 property documents were seized. Rs. 4.9 crore immovable property and Rs. 8.2 crore movable property. It is valued at Rs. 10 crore as per the documents, Rs. 10 crore more in the open market.  

Villa House in Puppalaguda Aditya Fort View.  Flat in  Somajiguda  Aditya Fort View, Flat in Somajiguda Legend Tulips, Flat in Aditha in Serilingampally, Plots in Malkajgiri Chevella.  12.13 acres of land at Chevella, Abdullahpurpet, Bhuvanagiri, Yadadri, Jalgaon, Siddiqui, and Gajwel, lands and plots in Nagarkurnool.  Rs. 99 lakhs in cash, four cars worth Rs. 51 lakhs, bank balance of Rs. 58 lakhs.

Gold, silver, Watches, Phones, and Home Appliances total value of Rs. 8.26 crores, 120 hand watches of Rolex, Rado, Fossil, and Tissot brands seized worth Rs. 32 lakhs.  Apple phones, tabs 31 seized. their value is Rs. 15 lakhs.  

ACB also conducted searches on several infra companies, Sai Sandeep Infra, Quarizon Space, SS Construction, and many other infra companies. Sister in Uppal, brothers in Korremula, ACB searches at Bammardi’s residence in Himayatnagar, 155 document sheets, 4 passbooks seized, acquisition of 20 LIC Policy Bonds   Seizure of IT return documents, four bank lockers seized,  ACB said that the Benami should be investigated.  (Maxim News)
