Railway Police Recovered 150 Cell Phones Worth Rupees 10 Lakhs In 1 Month

Hyderabad, Feb 15 (Maxim News): Railway Police Telangana special teams have recovered (150) stolen/ lost mobile phones worth Rupees 10 Lakhs using the C.E.I.R. portal of DOT in 1 month. Recovered phones are handed over to bonafide owners

On 19th April 2023 Central Equipment Identity Register portal started in Telangana state and Government Railway Police Telangana has recovered a total (of 435) stolen/ lost mobiles. As per kind instructions of ADG Railway Mahesh Bhagwat IPS who earlier worked as State nodal officer of the CEIR portal a special team has been formed all over the Railway Police district under the supervision officers of DSRP Rural Y.Narsimha Reddy and DSRP Kazipet K.Srinivas Rao and we recovered (150) mobiles worth Rs.10,00,000/- within a month including reported cases and Meeseva applications through CEIR portal. 

Along with Telangana state special teams have recovered mobiles from other states also i.e., Kerala-5, Uttarpradesh-4, Maharashtra-13, Karnataka-11, Madhya Pradesh-8, Bihar-6, Tamilnadu-7, Andhra Pradesh-38 and remaining Telangana-58 state. The above mobile phones were either stolen during the journey from passengers, who were sitting on the board or window side where they had misplaced phones or some unidentified offenders either snatched or stole them.

We request that Railway passengers be careful about their belongings and if any mobile phone theft occurs at railway stations then block your mobile phones with IMEI numbers in the CEIR portal immediately by logging in at www.ceir.gov.in

Passengers who lost their mobiles should immediately contact the nearest Police station to block IMEI using the CEIR portal and further track the phone, unblock it and hand it over to owners.
